Test Engineers (7100 Automation)
Job Description:
Engineer is working within a team of test engineers designing, developing and executing manual and automation tests on the 7190 element management platform. Responsibility includes the following:
1. Setup of the test environment, design, coding, debugging and execution of manual and automation test scripts in a simulated environment
2. Reporting of project status, reporting of product defects to the Development team, etc. Report to an Engineering Manager located in Shanghai China
3. Must be self motivated and be able to work with minimal supervision within a team environment
4. Periodic trips to the US required
Requirements:
Experience Required
1. Minimum 2-3 years Telecommunications Industry working experience
2. Testing or software development experience with network equipment utilizing DWDM, SDH, SONET, Gigabit Ethernet, data communications, etc
3. Experience in the testing or development of telecommunications network elements
4. Experience designing, debugging and executing automation test cases
Experience / Knowledge Desired
1. Software test and/or development background in C++ and/or Java as well as having knowledge of common scripting languages such as TCL, Python or Perl
2. Experienced at testing your own code using unit and integration testing methodologies as well as the ability to create automated test scripts using existing functions based on manual test cases
3. Experience in creating automated tools and scripts to exercise use cases, requirements and message structure/ flow
4. Understanding of formal software/system test design process and techniques
5. Working knowledge of UNIX and PC environments
Skills Required
1. Must posses some verbal and written communication skills in English
2. Ability to travel to the United States for training (2-4 week extended stay)
Sr. Engineer (Transport NE SWIT)
Job Description:
- Software Integration Testing for 7100 Network Element features
- Developing SWIT test plans and execution of the test plans for 7100 Network Element features
- Manual and automated testing, and automation testing requires knowledge of script languages to develop the automation capabilities
Requirements:
- 4-7 years of software integration experience
- Must have SONET/SDH, SAN, GBE knowledge.
- Must have DWDM, ROADM and optical experience, Script experience and experience with software integration test plans.
- Bachelor degree or above
Sr. Engineer (Transport CP SWIT)
Job Description:
- Mainly responsible for the testing of application software for the Tellabs 7100 Optical Transport System. Specific responsibilities will include testing of routing and signaling protocols (OSPF-TE and RSVP-TE) to support the ASON/GMPLS Control Plane.
- Additional duties may include maintenance of an ASON simulator to support scalability testing.
- Additionally, candidates can expect to participate in troubleshooting and engineering support.
Requirements:
- Skills: A minimum of 3 years experience in network protocol development
- Strong communication skills and script programming (e.g. Tcl, Expect, and Visual Basic) are desired.
- Prior experience in MPLS/GMPLS is preferred.
- Education: BSEE/BSCS or equivalent experience required.
