The candidate will be the lead member of the test engineering team in the our Beijing product development group, ensuring that assigned aspects of the system and verification tests meets the specified requirements for these critical access transport systems. Position is based in our recently established Beijing development facility.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise team of system test engineers responsible for developing and implementing test plans, procedures, and test documentation.
- Forecast, plan and schedule testing resources including people and equipment for efficient execution
- Track processes and metrics to improve system test time and quality
- Participate in software requirement gathering and analysis phase to ensure that all requirements are testable.
- Execute test plan and periodically report results
- Coach/train/mentor engineers on best practices for system testing including automated testing and validation
- Ensure highest quality of testing through reviews of processes, test plans, procedures, and results
- Support the team in developing testing methodologies for existing and new technologies
- Actively support team usage of defect tracking system and metrics capturing tools
- Ensure alignment of test coverage with product requirements and engineering functional specifications
- Interfaces and works directly with test team members and other engineering functional groups in the metro access engineering team
- Motivate team to excellence in both productivity and quality
The following requirements are expected for applicable candidates
- BS degree or higher in a communication, electronics, computer science or related majors
- Extensive prior experience in hardware engineering, software engineering, quality engineering work experience
- Test methodology is a must for black-box testing and preferred to have knowledge of white-box testing.
- Extensive prior experience in developing and implementing test plans and procedures and test documentation
- Understanding of QA methodologies as applied to telecommunications, networking products, and similar systems
- Knowledge of network management software architectures and requirements
- Supervising experience in telecommunications or networking company
- Troubleshooting skills with demonstrated experience isolating complex hardware/software issues to root cause
- Sound skills in reading, writing and oral English
- Good people skill, good at coordinating work among peers and interfacing with other functional groups, and a quick learner of new technologies and development areas
