Job Description – ETE Tester
Position Summary
Solution tester in multiple domain within SVT profession, identifies typical technical problems within multiple domain at network solution level through testing activities; follows and verifies corrective actions
Responsibilities
• Analyzes test requirements, defines test plan, and estimates tasks at project / network solutions level
• Configures complex network solution level test environment for newly emerged technologies /products, assesses testing equipment/ tools
• Conducts solution validation test (SVT/IOT) at network solution level, verifies solutions from end to end view
• Conducts regression test or area test or automatic test (RT/ATC) across multiple domains
• Conducts feature test or functional test across multiple domains or for newly introduced technology/product, testing whether the designed features could be realized from the customer’s perspective
• Conducts complex load test or performance tests, designs traffic model
• Detects, clearly describes and locates critical technical problems at system design / network solution level / load test/ performance test; advises on and verifies corrective actions
• May recommend new approaches to existing system integration and test processes and methodologies
• Participates in early solution design phase to point out potential technical problems within certain domain, contributing to the implementation strategy

• Has expertise and provides technical guidance in certain domain, contributes to project planning
• Understands industry test standards and assesses their influence on certain domain
• Assists colleagues in training or skills development; mentors engineers; shares with peers
Requirement (Multimedia)
• Bachelor or above in Computer Science of Telecom or Related major.
• At least 3 years experience in Telecommunication or related.
• Experience with the OSI 7-layer networking model, e.g., TCP/IP, RTSP, HTTP, RSTP and video streaming protocols and standards.
• Experience with multicast protocols e.g., IGMP, PIM for video, RTSP and Qos/Firewall technologies.
• Understanding of Mpeg1, Mpeg2, Mpeg2-SPTS/MPTS, H.264, AC3/AAC
• Experience working with Unix, Linux, system performance, and SQL server/Oracle operation skills.
• Know about HTML, Java, JavaScript, or PL/SQL.
• Experience in building multi-node distributed systems, e.g., client-server web applications, distributed storage, and video applications.
• Excellent team work and communication skills.
• Ability to self-start and learn, work under little supervision.
• Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites as necessary.
