The primary job responsibilities will be to insure the quality of Sybase Data Integration products by creating and implementing detailed product test plans and test cases. Will be responsible for automated functional and performance test development, execution and maintenance for complex product features or test scenarios. Will be responsible for interfacing with development for reporting and resolving issues and defects. Participates in product specification and code reviews. May act as technical lead for assigned projects.
Must be able to rapidly learn a broad set of Sybase products and industry technology including Application Servers, Relational Databases, Programming Languages (JAVA), message queuing and XML. Knowledge of automated test tools including JUnit, Rational Functional Tester preferable. Requires knowledge and experience with different operating systems including Windows, UNIX and Linux. This work requires software development, organizational, interpersonal skills and a strong technology aptitude and interest in continual learning. Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
BS/BSCS & 5-7 years or MS/MSCS & 4-6 years
A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of knowledge or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is required. Experience in formal testing role for an end-market product.
