Title: Manager Internationalization Test
Purpose/Job Summary:
The Internationalization Test Manager is responsible for the day to day running and activities of the Internationalization test team. This responsibility includes all tactical and strategic management activities related to the i18n team, including testing roadmaps, projects, budgets, project resourcing and team facilities. Working closely with the Globalization Services team as well as the Beijing R&D team, the i18n Test Manager is responsible for ensuring that Novell products meet the requirements of working in an international environment, and that Novell's products are fully localizable in a cost effective and efficient manner. The i18n Test manager is also the primary point of contact for all requests to have i18n testing activities carried out on a product or piece of content and supports the effort to prioritize i18n Test activity based on resource availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Escalation point for all activities relating to: I18n Test team I18n project roadmaps, status and schedule Project production and work quality I18n Product quality issues
o Makes project assignments, and ensures on-time completion and delivery of same
o Ensures that the i18n Test team are able to deliver on all i18n test activities
o Measures and reports KPI's / operational efficiency indexes. Ensures timely reporting of all data
o Drives technical process development working with the i18n and localization teams to ensure best practice and continuous improvement
o Audits and monitors i18n project activities to ensure best practices are utilized
o
Minimum Qualifications:
o Understand in detail, all aspects of the software internationalization and localization processes, as well as the implications of developing software for international markets. Be capable of defining new processes or re-engineering existing processes as required.
o Demonstrated ability to present & communicate effectively and appropriately to differing audiences and levels of an organisation.
o Demonstrated team, interpersonal, communication and influencing/negotiation skills
o Ability to drive multiple projects to completion working with local and remote teams
Demonstrated ability to works across different levels of an organisation to implement and promote the use of best internationalization practices
o Proactive in identifying issues, analysing solutions and selecting the most appropriate course of action
o Demonstrates a clear understand of quality and customer service Anticipates customer issues (internal and external) and provides appropriate solutions
o Demonstrated results in coaching, mentoring and motivating technical and non-technical teams
o Experience with employee development and career planning
o Clear and insightful understanding of internationalization test best practices

Recognised internal / external links with industry bodies
10+ Years of experience of working in a relevant field, with 5+ years at a manager / supervisor level.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
2.i18n Test Lead
Department: i18n Test – Globalization Services
Title: i18n Test Lead
Purpose/Job Summary:
Coordinate and prioritize the activities of a team of test engineers, engaged in the internationalization testing and functional localization testing of Novell products. Support, mentor and supervise the activities of this team to ensure that the team has the necessary knowledge and tools to carry out its duties with respect to quality assurance of Novell products. Report and escalate project and product quality issues to the team manager. Manage and distribute the workload of the team to ensure projects are adequately resourced and resource utilization is maximized.

o Process review, refinenement and development
o Locale Technical knowledge and experience (SBCS/MBCS/BiDi etc)

o Localization Tools experience (Pseudo / Fake language translation)
o Exit Criteria Definition and transition of to Localization
Requirements
o Demonstrated knowledge of Linux , Win32, Solaris or Netware In particular, the candidate should have a knowledge in the internationalization foundation frameworks in use on some or all of these platforms.
o Background in software development or test development with a working knowledge of Java, C#, C++, or C.
o The knowledge in these languages can be generalised or specific to internationalization principles therein.
o Working knowledge of test tools (automation, defect tracking, test case management)
o Demonstrated knowledge in software debugging (code reading ability would be desirable)
o Working knowledge of web technologies (Java Servlet, PHP, XML)
o Test Certification would be desirable
o Demonstrated experience of successfully leading and managing teams across multiple projects
o 3rd Level or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (at least 5 years practical application of skills)
o Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
3. i18n Test Engineer:

Title: i18n Test Engineer
Purpose/Job Summary:
Supporting peers in the Globalization Services team and the Product Development teams, the role consists of co-ordinating and testing all aspects affecting the international functionality of software components and systems. Key requirements and activities include:
Core activities:
o I18n test case development
o I18n test plan development
o Support, co-ordination and auditing of any outsource test effort
o Regular results reporting through defined reporting systems
o Locale Technical knowledge and experience (SBCS/MBCS/BiDi etc)
o Technology Technical Specialist (Linux/NW/Win32/Java/Web etc)
