Responsibilities:
Work with the core R&D engineers to develop and test a DBaaS solution
o Work closely with R&D engineers during the product development to execute tests
o Assist in design, selection and implementation of test framework and unit/API test creation
o Automate tests where possible
o Mentor junior QA engineers
o File defect reports/Triage defects
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field
o 4+ years experience developing/testing enterprise level software products.
O Core technical knowledge should include at least 3 of the following areas
Strong programming skill in Java/C++
Good shell script (csh/sh/bash) skill and experience Administration knowledge of UNIX/Linux or Windows OSes
Solid knowledge of database (architecture, administrator and quality assurance)Hands on experience with MySQL or similar relational database
A solid understanding of operating system fundamentals
An understanding of networking fundamentals as applicable to database administration
O Hands on skill and experience on Perl/Python programming/scripting is preferred
o Experienced in developing automation testing, and familiar with at least one of automation tools
o Experience working with geographically separate teams
o Strong trouble shooting and debugging skills to assist in root cause analysis
o A good understanding of QA process and software development life cycle
o Experience with bugs filing systems and source control systems
o Excellent communication skills required
o Must be team oriented and be capable of working largely on your own with minimum supervision
