What is usability testing?

Usability testing is testing for 'user-friendliness'. Clearly this is subjective and depends on the targeted end-user or customer. User interviews, surveys, video recording of user sessions and other techniques can be used. Programmers and developers are usually not appropriate as usability testers.

可用性测试是一种用户友好度测试,无疑地,这会依赖最终用户或客户的主观性感受.(一般做可用性测试时)用户会试用软件并大致了解主要功能,会采用一些屏幕录像方式或其他技术手段.编码人员或开发人员通常不是合适的可用性测试人选.

分析:
可用性测试在家电行业已经非常发达,一个产品的质量最终决定于功能的实现和用户的满意程度,而可用性是用户满意程度的重要组成部分,所以其重要程度一般大于系统功能测试(只是软件行业还没有家电行业成熟).
既然是测试就不会是主观性的测试,即便我们是要测试某种主观感受,这是截然不同的两码事.这也是此文的谬误最大之处,混淆了测试手段和测试对象.如果度量分析参与者的主观感受,其实于软件过程的度量是一样的基本原理,有兴趣的可以直接参阅家电行业的资料,一般你会目瞪口呆的,呵呵,...

In our testing, the usability testing is part of out testing. It mainly includes the Easy of Use for users, Performance, Interaction, Completness, etc. These status is considered for user during using our software. We should promise there is not anyinconvenience for user in using our product. After all, It's our purpose.
